Village Hall Appeal
What's wrong with our existing village hall?
If we build the new hall, we can provide a multifunctional community facility that will be part of the sustainable economy of the village. There is no limit as to what we could do; more activities for young people, adult education opportunities, lunch clubs for senior citizens, outreach services (such as information and advice), a community resource centre (including services such as fax, photocopying and internet access), local produce markets….
A pleasant new facility would attract lettings for a wide range of functions, including private parties, wedding receptions and charity fundraising events. It would also provide a venue for theatre, cinema club, concerts and musical events.
Just in terms of improving what we do already, the playgroup could have a proper outdoor play area, everyone could have improved storage facilities, we could seat more people at village events and car-parking problems would be alleviated. People with disabilities could use the facility safely and with dignity. We could have a kitchen, which would meet modern day standards and requirements, and the whole building would be more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
