The Barcombe Players and Barcombe Youth Theatre

The Barcombe Players were formed in 1955. In the past 55 years, members have performed 97 productions in the Village Hall, including serious plays, comedy, youth productions and pantomimes. Performances have always been warmly received and in 2007 our production of Noel Coward's "Hay Fever" received an Accolade of Excellence (South East Region) from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA).

The Players are an enthusiastic group of volunteers and currently perform a play in October and a pantomime in February of each year. We would love to have more members: actors, directors, backstage crew, lighting, set-builders. Joining us enables local people of all ages to become involved in a community activity and is a great way to make new friends. After years of performing in a draughty, damp old hall, we are really looking forward to moving into the new Village Hall in 2011 and to the wonderful new opportunities that this will provide.

	The Barcombe Players' Youth Group is a large, enthusiastic bunch of local children and is all-inclusive, encouraging the participation of those with additional needs. The group is free and run by volunteers within the community who believe that performance increases self-esteem through team-work, promotes understanding between generations and encourages young people to take a pride in their community.
